[Beijing, China, February 13, 2023] The first series of activities of the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum – Beijing AI Industry Innovation and Development Conference was held at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center in Beijing. At the meeting, Beijing Shengteng AI Computing Center officially lit up and signed contracts with the first 47 enterprises and scientific research institutions, which will promote the high-quality development of Beijing AI industry. During the conference, the AI security and credible escort plan and the “White Paper on the Development of AI Industry in Beijing in 2022” were also released. The Mentougou District Government of Beijing and Huawei jointly donated Ascent AI computing equipment to 21 enterprises and scientific research institutions in Beijing.

“Double first” to accelerate the high-quality development of Beijing AI industry
Centering on the construction plan of Beijing to build an international science and technology innovation center, a digital economy benchmarking city, a national AI innovation and application pilot area and a national new generation AI innovation and development pilot area, the Mentougou District Government of Beijing, together with Zhongguancun Development Group and Huawei, focused on the cultivation of AI industry segments, and accelerated the construction of Zhongguancun (West Beijing) AI Science Park, We will make every effort to build Beijing Shengteng AI computing center, continue to promote the digitization and intellectualization of the industry, and help the development of Beijing AI industry.
Beijing Shengteng AI Computing Center uses the basic software and hardware of Shengteng AI to fully release the computing power of hardware and accelerate the innovative application and model incubation of AI enterprises. The project has achieved two “firsts” nationwide. The first is to adopt the market-oriented operation mode for the first time and actively explore the new construction mode of artificial intelligence “root technology+industrial capital+industrial policy”; Second, relying on the independent innovation root technology, through the establishment of four platforms: “public computing service platform”, “application innovation incubation platform”, “industrial convergence development platform”, and “scientific research innovation and talent training platform”, a new industrial development model of “inclusive computing+entrepreneurship service+innovation platform+high-quality talents” has been formed to create a “Jingxi Smart Valley” with characteristic industries. The scale of computing power of the first phase of Beijing Shengteng Artificial Intelligence Computing Center reaches 100P, which can provide enterprises and scientific research institutions with surging computing power services of Shengteng AI, realize the connection of the whole process of “politics, production, learning, research and application”, and accelerate the one-stop construction from “AI computing power cluster” to “industrial cluster”.
At the conference site, the first batch of enterprises and scientific research units that signed the contract with Beijing Shengteng Artificial Intelligence Computing Center reached 47, and the scale of the use of pre-computing power exceeded 248P. In the future, Beijing Shengteng AI Computing Center will continue to expand its capacity. The scale of computing power will reach 500P in the short term and 1000P in the long term. It will strive to become the hub of intelligent computing power in the north, and make full use of Pratt&Whitney AI computing power to promote the convergence of Beijing AI industry and accelerate industrial innovation and development.

At present, there are barriers between AI technology and industrial application. In addition, Huawei will also rely on the Beijing Shengteng Artificial Intelligence Ecological Innovation Center to provide comprehensive technical support for AI enterprises, provide model incubation, application migration, product solution design and other services, and deepen cooperation with AI enterprises with the help of Shengteng pre-training model, industry development kit, model development tool and other application enabling kits.
At the meeting, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology released the “White Paper on the Development of Beijing’s AI Industry in 2022”, which systematically demonstrated Beijing’s innovative achievements and practical experience in building a global AI innovation source and AI leading city, and provided decision-making reference for the development of AI industry. At the same time, the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center, together with the Mentougou District Government of Beijing, Zhongguancun Development Group and Huawei, jointly launched the “AI Security and Trust Escort Plan”. The Beijing Shengteng AI Ecological Innovation Center will become the first “AI Security and Trust Escort Plan Ecological Development Center”, focusing on the pilot and promotion of AI security and trust management practices in Beijing. At the same time, the first batch of 31 AI representative enterprises have become partners of the “AI Security and Trust Escort Plan”, and will participate in theoretical research, standard formulation, evaluation and evaluation and other related work in the future to jointly build the AI security and trust ecosystem.
